Why be Vegan - sooo many reasons.

Why be Vegan? the real question is why are you NOT?

The horrors of the dairy industry should be enough for any human being to become vegan overnight - it was for us.  I couldn't simply be a part of that.  Cows milk only comes from a cow because they are pregnant - artificially over and over each time having their babies taken away, until they have nothing left to give. Then they are slaughtered at 5-7 years old, when they can live for 25 years.  Their babies are taken away and killed for meat - because they want to sell the milk and not let the baby calfs drink it.  Can you image that? well you don't have to because EVERY TIME YOU BUY A PINT OF MILK - YOU ARE SUPPORTING THIS.  Cows have feelings like any other animal.

It's not ok to expect an animal to give everything, and then when exhausted slaughter it.  It's not ok to send baby pigs of a few months old to the gas chamber and it's not ok to put live chicks in a grinder.  None of this is ok.

So my question is why are you NOT VEGAN?  Most people are shocked when they learn this and start to change things immediately. - I admit I struggle with people who know this but still continue to support it.

Is a Vegan diet healthier?

image59

Many people grow up thinking that animal products like meat and milk are essential parts of our diets because that's what most people have ever known.  Its only when you actually stop and think about that you realise those products were never designed for our bodies and the illness we as humans get are hugely linked to that poor diet.  Meat is an carconagenic, a cancer causing food.  there is huge research on this.  Dairy too is liked to many childhood diseases. A well-planned vegan diet follows healthy eating guidelines, and contain all the nutrients that our bodies need. Both the British Dietetic Association and the American Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics recognise that they are suitable for every age and stage of life.

THE BIGGEST ENVIRONMENTAL CHANGE YOU CAN MAKE AS A SINGLE HUMAN BEING IS TO BE BECOME VEGAN

The meat and dairy industry is responsible for over 80% of our current climate crisis.  Thats huge.

Can I loose weight on a Vegan diet?

image60

Not only will you loose weight but be healthier too - surely we all need to look after our bodies for our own sakes, our families and the environmental bonuses are countless:

Lower blood pressure and cholesterol, and lower rates of heart disease, type 2 diabetes and some types of cancer.

You can eat a 100% plant-based diet that supports excellent health, whilst helping animals and protecting the planet.

In a study published in the Journal of General Internal Medicine, individuals who follow a vegan diet for approximately 18 weeks shed, on average, four pounds more than those who follow animal-based diets - even more if you choose a raw vegan diet.  I am 90% raw vegan, I find for my body that's the right thing and I've lost over 2 & 1/2 stone - 1 & 1/2 stone since May on a vegan diet.  I've never felt so alive, inspired and healthy which is why I promote this lifestyle to others.  If you are serious about losing weight talk to us we are happy to guide you.  I think you'd be amazed at how easy it is when you cut out Meat, fish and dairy.

Did you know all male chicks are killed at birth - live

So whether you buy caged or free-range eggs, the effect is still the same.  the above picture on the left are free range, on the right caged hens. Male chicken are killed, live down a grinder at birth.  Adult Chickens bred for eggs have their beaks cut off to prevent fighting, without any painkillers. they are all killed at around 1 year old for meat due to exhaustion.  It's just horrendous.  I bought free range eggs for years not realising I really didn't help anything at all.  As soon as I heard the above, eggs for us were out.

Does Vegan food tase good?

image63

Blimey - does it!

It tastes even better -

My cakes and bakes show nothing needs to be added from an animal to make great food.

Our family dishes are not only great tasting but sooooo colourful and you know what they say - you eat with your eyes and with all the amazing coloured fruits and veg, you can't help but make a fantastic looking dish. x

I often hear people say to me, you wouldn't know it didn't have dairy in!

But the taste and look are only half the story - its massively healthier and if you want to be less sick, stronger and live longer, you have to make the move to Vegan food.
